SMS Messaging Consent

How patients opt in to text messages from a Jazmine-powered practice.

1. How opt-in works

Jazmine provides a contact-us widget that cosmetic practices embed on their public websites. When a prospective patient fills out that widget to ask about a consultation, they are asked to provide a phone number and to expressly consent to receive SMS messages from the practice.

Below is the exact consent prompt shown inside the widget on a practice’s website. The checkbox is unchecked by default and must be ticked by the patient before the form will submit. No SMS message is sent unless and until the patient checks this box and submits their information.

2. What messages are sent

After a patient opts in, they may receive text messages from the practice (delivered through Jazmine’s platform) related to:

  • Acknowledgement of their inquiry
  • Answers to their questions about procedures and pricing
  • Scheduling and rescheduling consultations
  • Appointment reminders and confirmations
  • Follow-up after a consultation

Message frequency variesbased on the patient’s active conversation with the practice. Conversations are typically initiated by the patient and replies from Jazmine’s assistant are sent within approximately one minute. Most opt-in patients receive between 1 and 10 messages per inquiry.

3. Cost

Jazmine does not charge patients for SMS messages. Message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Contact your carrier for details.

4. How to opt out

Patients can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message from the practice. Once they do, they will receive a single confirmation that they have been unsubscribed and will not receive further SMS messages from that practice unless they explicitly opt back in by replying START or UNSTOP.

Patients can also reply HELP at any time to receive contact information for the practice and a reminder of how to opt out.

5. Privacy and HIPAA

Jazmine is a HIPAA-compliant platform. SMS message bodies never contain protected health information (PHI) such as procedure names, diagnoses, dates of birth, or insurance details. When a practice needs to share PHI with a patient, Jazmine sends a secure portal link via SMS and the patient continues the conversation inside that portal.

For full details, please see our Privacy Policy and HIPAA Compliance pages.

6. Phone numbers and brand

Each practice using Jazmine is assigned a dedicated toll-free phone number. Messages are signed with the practice’s brand. Patients always know which practice is messaging them and can identify Jazmine as the technology provider in this consent page.
